Sport is a core part of cadet life at 1015 (Horsham) Squadron, building fitness, teamwork and a healthy dose of competitive spirit alongside everything else on the training programme.
RAF Air Cadets run seven core sports nationally — athletics, cross country, football, rugby, hockey, netball and swimming. On squadron nights, 1015 (Horsham) cadets get stuck into athletics, football, basketball and rounders. There’s no need for prior experience; you’ll be introduced gradually and can find the sports that suit you.
Good performers don’t stop at squadron level. Cadets can be selected to represent Sussex Wing, then London & South East Region, and ultimately the Air Training Corps nationally, with inter-squadron competitions typically held over the summer as the first step on that ladder.
As well as the competitive side, sport at 1015 Squadron is about staying active, working as a team, and having fun on parade nights — all while counting towards cadets’ wider personal development.
